"Drifting Shadows"
"Drifting Shadows" 2025.
Acrylics on Archival Paper.
"It's wonderful to walk along like that, thought not the usual intention to reach an answer but merely drifting."
Mary Oliver - Poet.
This small abstract painting is number four in a mini series of new work.
The narrative explores a journey of self discovery, unfolding.
I've recently been working on a group project with Bournemouth Arts Club with the theme 'Vestiges'.
A vestige can relate to a journey in several ways: a vestige can be a physical trace or remainder from a past journey, or it can be a memory or idea that lingers from a journey. A journey itself can be seen as a remnant or "last vestige" of a nomadic past, or the journey can be about finding or exploring the vestiges of a place or time.
